Egg Freezing
Preserving Your Fertility
A way to preserve your fertility by collecting and freezing your eggs for future use, offering greater flexibility around when to start a family.
Understanding egg freezing
What is egg freezing?
Egg freezing is a fertility preservation treatment that involves collecting your eggs, freezing them, and safely storing them for potential use in fertility treatment in the future.

For some women, this offers greater flexibility around family planning and reproductive choices. Others may consider egg freezing for medical reasons, such as treatment that could affect fertility or concerns about early menopause.

While egg freezing cannot guarantee a future pregnancy, it can provide reassurance and preserve future options at a time that feels right for you.
Who it may help
When egg freezing may be considered
Every woman’s reasons for considering egg freezing are different.

You may be considering treatment because you are not yet ready to start a family but would like to preserve your fertility options for the future. For others, egg freezing may be considered ahead of medical treatment that could affect ovarian function, or where there are concerns about reduced ovarian reserve or early menopause.

At your consultation, Ms Ben Nagi will take time to understand your circumstances, discuss your fertility health, and help you decide whether egg freezing is the right option for you.
Initial consultation
A detailed consultation to understand your fertility history, discuss your goals, and review whether egg freezing is the most appropriate option for you.
Fertility assessment and ovarian reserve testing
This may include ultrasound assessment and hormone testing to better understand your ovarian reserve and fertility health.
Ovarian stimulation (approximately 10–14 days)
Medication is used to encourage multiple eggs to develop during a carefully monitored treatment cycle.
Monitoring
Ultrasound scans, and where appropriate blood tests, help monitor your response and guide treatment safely.
Egg collection
A short procedure, usually performed under sedation, to collect the eggs from your ovaries.
Freezing and storage
Mature eggs are carefully frozen and safely stored for future use.
Follow-up and next steps
You will have the opportunity to review your treatment and discuss future considerations or next steps.

Understanding investigations
Egg freezing can preserve future fertility options, but it does not guarantee pregnancy.

Success depends on a number of factors, including your age at the time of freezing, the number and quality of eggs collected, and future fertility circumstances.

As with any medical treatment, there are risks, including ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), clots, and procedural risks associated with egg collection.

These will always be discussed with you clearly during your consultation, alongside written information to support your decision-making.
